Who we are
Memory Lane is operated by 16873391 Canada Inc., in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is part of our Terms of Service.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in with a one-time link and to send you account and billing emails.
- Your photos, which often show identifiable people, and the Lanes, Legs, and Reels made from them.
- Billing records: your Plan and Subscription, your Purchases, and your Credit balance history. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Technical data about errors, performance, and which pages are visited, so we can find and fix problems and improve the site. We keep this free of your photos, Lane titles, and prompts.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers to run Memory Lane, and share only what each one needs:
- fal runs the AI video model. When you generate, your photos are sent to fal through links that expire, and fal processes them temporarily to make your Legs. Before a photo goes to fal we remove its metadata, including any location and camera details; the copy we store for you keeps it. We ask fal not to store your requests, and to delete each video it generates about two hours after making it — we keep our own copy in private storage. fal’s terms allow it to use anonymised or aggregated data derived from what it processes to improve its services and models.
- Supabase hosts our database, sign-in, and private file storage for your photos and videos.
- Vercel hosts the website and application, and measures which pages are visited and how fast they load. This works without cookies and doesn’t identify you: it records the page, the site you came from, your browser and device type, your approximate country, and how long the page took to load.
- Stripe processes payments and manages subscriptions.
- Resend delivers our sign-in and billing emails.
- Sentry receives error and performance reports.
Some of these providers process data outside Canada, including in the United States. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies; the page-visit measurement described above works without cookies.
Who can see your photos
Your photos, Lanes, and Reels are private to your account. We look at them only to run the service, when you ask us for support, to investigate an abuse report, or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Your photos and videos are private to your account, and we keep them until you delete the Lane they belong to or your account. Everything else has its own period:
- Purchase and Subscription records: at least six years, the period Canadian tax law generally expects, even after you delete your account.
- The record of what each Run cost us: no fixed deletion date. It holds no photos, videos, or email address and isn’t tied to your account.
- Sentry error and performance reports: no more than 90 days.
- Vercel logs: no more than 30 days. Vercel page-visit measurements: up to 12 months.
- Resend email delivery logs: 30 days. That includes the log entry for the confirmation email we send when you delete your account, which is the only record of that email we hold.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself from the Account page at any time, or ask us to by contacting us at support@memorylanelegacy.com; we complete an emailed request within 30 days. Deleting your account permanently removes our copies of your photos, Lanes, Legs, Reels, and Credit balance history. Copies fal holds from processing your Legs are deleted under fal’s own retention period instead (see the fal entry above under “Who we share it with”). We keep your Purchase and Subscription records, identified only by internal and Stripe reference numbers, because the law requires us to keep financial records; Stripe keeps its own records of your payments. We also keep a record of what each Run cost us, which contains none of your photos or videos.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Contact us at support@memorylanelegacy.com.
Children
Memory Lane is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
Changes to this policy
The date at the top shows when this policy last changed. If we make a material change, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Memory Lane after that means you accept the updated policy. We won’t use your personal information for a new purpose without asking you first.
